The Principalist candidate is Dr. Velayati (along with Qalibaf and Haddad-Adel, who recently left election competition to balance 'Reformist' front from whom Mr. Aref left to strengthen hand of Rohani).

So, for now there are two Principalists, Dr. Velayati and Mr. Qalibaf. And, perhaps Mr. Jalili can be considered a Principalist also, but perhaps a version more 'militant', whereas the Principalists want to hold everyone together.

I think the new 'Resistance' front is a reaction to thirteen years of U.S. war mongering in region and Iran demonization campaigns (despite Khatami/Rafsanjani overtures), which has been a wake-up call for the Islamic movement in Iran.

Let's not forget that Iran has followed IMF dictums and plans, in its own way, so as to make it a model nation, in terms of development.

For sixteen years, under Rafsanjani and Khatami presidencies, Iran pursued a liberalizing, then neoliberal campaign, with and Islamic façade that with the fall of the Soviet Union had many duped into believing that Iran is going to be integrated at any moment into the "international" community.

However, as history has thus far proven, the Zionist regime has come to be the Achilles Heal of Western neoliberalism and its plans for the Mid-East.

It was for sake of Zionist regime that the War-On-Terror was staged, with the added desire of military-industrial complex to create a security regime.

So, though Mr. Jalili is a Principalist, He is at the same time an expression of things to come, perhaps though maybe not from this election. We have to see.

But, I think, even for the Jewish Bankers who financed and backed the creation of the Zionist regime via myriad conspiracies and wars, now perhaps see it as a liability to their neoliberal agenda as well. Especially, with the "Arab Spring" et. al. Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
