Atzmon event makes Isthmus “Critics Choice,” draws local musicians!
Leading European jazz saxophonist and author Gilad Atzmon is gaining
recognition in Madison ahead of his talk and musical performance
tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21st, 7 pm, at the Glass Nickel Pizza, 2916 Atwood Ave. (admission free).
Atzmon’s event was selected for the Isthmus “Critics Choice”
centerfold, and several notable local musicians have committed to
performing with him at the Glass Nickel.
Though Atzmon has written two novels, it is his recent non-fiction
book The Wandering Who? that has sparked acclaim and outrage and drawn
attention to his controversial ideas about Jewish identity and the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict. His current book project involves free
speech, self-censorship, and the legacy of George Orwell.
The event is sponsored by the University of Wisconsin-Madison Sifting and Winnowing Club:
