And blessings of the Holy Prophet Jesus to you, too!

Congressman Mark Siljander explains why educated Muslims and Christians share    a virtually identical faith...and ought to unite against the values of Anti-Christ.

"Merry Christmas!"

"And a Merry Christmas to you, too!"

That, of course, is the traditional Christmas greeting and response.

But somewhere along the line, "Merry Christmas" became...shall we say...politically incorrect. It was deemed offensive to the atheist extremists who want to remove religion from public life; and to Jews, who generally take a dim view of Jesus. (The Talmud has Jesus being boiled eternally in excrement.)

Since atheists and Jews, though tiny minorities, are so wildly over-represented in positions of power, privilege, and influence, America's Christian majority has been intimidated into feeling ashamed of their own prophet (excuse me, "Lord and Savior"). So they apologetically mutter "happy holidays." How freaking pathetic.

Many Christians, brainwashed by the Jews and atheists, imagine that other religious folk, such as Muslims, would likewise be offended by the "Merry Christmas" greeting. My ex-sister-in-law, a pious Lutheran, once invited us over to Christmas dinner by saying "I know you Muslims hate Jesus, but..."

Obviously she was confusing Muslims with Jews.

As an American Muslim, I find this misunderstanding really annoying...almost as annoying as the parallel misunderstanding about whether it was Muslims or atheist Jews who blew up the World Trade Center. But I digress...

Muslims, like Christians, love and revere the Holy Prophet Jesus, peace and blessings upon him. Educated Muslims and Christians share an almost identical view of the Holy Prophet Jesus, "ruh al-quds" (the Holy Spirit) conceived miraculously by the Virgin Mary and sent to earth with a beautiful divine message. (The best source on this is Congressman Mark Siljander, who was crucified by the 9/11 perps for getting in the way of their efforts to stir up a holy war between Christians and Muslims.)

My own non-Muslim family members are stubbornly clueless about all of this. They imagine that we Muslims would be offended by a Jesus-centered Christmas. They think we Muslims should embrace a totally non-denominational, religion-free Christmas dedicated purely to feasting, materialism, and greed.

They are, of course, completely out of their minds.

Here is my Muslim take on Christmas:

If the Christians are crazy enough to commemorate the birth of their holy prophet by ascribing a fictitious birthday and pegging it to the date of an ancient pagan festival celebrating the return of the sun after the winter solstice, that's okay with me.

But for God's sake, don't desecrate the celebration by making it about anything other than Jesus!!!

And for the love of Jesus Christ, do NOT spend that day, and the season around it, celebrating the values of the anti-Christ: greed, materialism, phoniness, gluttony, superficiality, egocentricity, mendacity, tribalism, nationalism, alcoholism, commercialism...you know the drill.

When someone says "happy holidays" I have to assume they're unconsciously celebrating these values, the values of the anti-Christ, that dominate today's version of Christmas.

And even when they say "Merry Christmas" I can't help but wonder.

So just to clarify things, I have devised a stock response to people who say "Merry Christmas" or "happy holidays."

Here is my response:

"And blessings of the Holy Prophet Jesus to you, too!"

  1. An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger."

The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?"

"Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or no life after death?" as he smiled smugly.

"Okay," she said. "Those could be interesting topics but let me ask you a question first. A horse, a cow, and a deer all eat the same stuff - grass. Yet a deer excretes little pellets, while a cow turns out a flat patty, but a horse produces clumps. Why do you suppose that is?"

The atheist, visibly surprised by the little girl's intelligence, thinks about it and says, "Hmmm, I have no idea."

To which the little girl replies, "Do you really feel qualified to discuss God, Heaven and Hell, or life after death, when you don't know shit?"

And then she went back to reading her book.

  2. Kevin,

Though I understand your satirical, rhetorical or polemical use of broad divisive designations, as in today's essay concerning views of Muslims, Christians, Jews and Atheists about Jesus, I question its accuracy.  As you well know there is tremendous variation of beliefs amongst people in each of those religious categories.  So any hyperbolic generalization concerning what "Jews" or "atheists" believe about Jesus is inevitably inaccurate and gratuitously divisive.

eg. Contrary to your essay, in my experience there are many ethnic and religious Jews who honor Jesus as a great rabbi and prophet.   As to them your "dim view" generalization based on an esoteric talmudic passage of which most Jews are completely ignorant is inappropriate and inaccurate.

Thus, I agree with His Holiness the Dalai Lama, that beyond religion – which is inadequate to address current common crises – we need to find a common code of ethics for all people of all cultures and beliefs. Despite superficial differences, we need to co-exist harmoniously honoring our essential commonality and the precious planet which is our common home.

To transcend religion-ism-schisms, I suggest a new religion-ism: Biophilism – viz. universal love of Life.

    NAMASTE!

  3. You're right, I was painting with an overly broad brush, partly for the humorous shock effect of saying rarely-said things "truth jihadi" style.

But I do understand that the usual orthodox (i.e. traditionally accepted) Jewish position is that Jesus was a phony, etc. etc. That's why he's not among the prophets accepted by Jews.

I'm trying to eliminate the negative through cathartic humor, rather than wishing it away or pretending it isn't there.

(Of course, in the broadest possible view, it isn't there! Which seems to be the level you're on. Congratulations!)

May the peace and blessings of God be upon those who follow the right guidance,

The 'Jews' who did not betrayed God, not those who wrote the Palestinian talmud in Salomon's jail under the Temple Mount and the ones who follow the Babylonian talmud in the jails of Nabuchodonosor are now in power... they imitate the true believers but they are filthy demons, nowadays, the orthodox Jews following the mishnas of prophet Solomon,Abraham, Moses and Jesus are the ones you are describing, they are the ones in the direct lineage of the 315 prophets sent to mankind by God, out of 124 000 messengers sent throughout the history. Mishnas (or Sunnah the equivalent in Islaam) which is the prophetical tradition that came with the Bible and Torah... Talmud is a heretical zionistical masonical explanation of the mishnas nothing to do with the Bible and Psaulm, the Evangile or even the Torah all mentioned in the Quran as the words of God al Mighty, and babylonian talmud is where we find the most awful stuff and lies against the Al Mighty one.

At the end of the day those who understands that current battle is between those who follow the lineage of the Prophets of God and those who follow the fake prophet, the deceiver, the anti-Christ are those who are the front lines, this is the battle between evil and good

The deceiver Prophet, anti-christ, dajjal, or moschiah started his mission when the Babylonian Talmud was finished in the 6th century of our era, in the 6th century emerged Muhammad Ibn Abdillah saws, the Seal of the Prophet hood, the Noble Prophet to start the finish the struggle against evil, not a coincidence, with the deceivers, and Jesus, son of Mary, may the peace and blessings of God be upon him and his noble mother, will finish the greatest threat to mankind, the deceiver prophet and kill him. The secret societies ruling the West and 70% of the world are following the Babylonian Talmud in his diverse sections which is nothing else that the moschiah constitution, look at the first free masonic lodge created during the Solomon, pbuh, rule, under Temple Mount in Jerusalem, this is where they dig to find 'more occult powers' from their cosmical alliances, you call that UFOS we call that Djinns, the fake prophet is imitating Jesus to deceive a maximum of people, he is using his Sirius, Antares and other Stars 'connexions' to battle mankind and deceive mankind with lies like he created mankind or he was living on earth before mankind, which is true, this is where we are heading now with an extra terrestrial discovery that will change the earth to make his appearance real now, the believers have the Books of the Revelation, with advises and informations on the deception and the deceiver in chief, the last one the Quran (first third part relates to the Torah, addressing the Jews with evidence that it is God's words and revelation, the second third of the Quran relates to the Evangile, addressing the so called Christians and the last third is for all mankind, to the submitted to the divine law, the Muslims), you'll find reminiscence of truth revelation in some Orthodox and Christians, little Protestants but still though, no surprises here they have the mishnas or sunnah of the prophets, and the Revelations of God Al mighty to defend themselves against this threat in command of mankind at the moment... but for how long still ?

This is where we are at the moment...

  5. "Say: 'We believe in God and the revelation given to us and to Abraham, Ismail, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and message given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and it is unto Him that we surrender ourselves.'" [Quran 2:136]
